Asphalt Paving Estimating Software for Crews That Bid From the Truck
If you pave driveways, parking lots, overlays and patches, the estimate is where the money is made or lost. Get the square footage wrong, or the tons, or forget the base, and you either lose the job or win one you shouldn't have.
is estimating and job software built by a working San Antonio paving contractor for his own crew. It measures, does the tonnage math, builds the bid, and carries that same bid through to the job and the invoice.
From aerial imagery to a priced bid
Measure the job before you drive out
Search the address and trace the job on aerial imagery:
- Area shapes give you square feet, square yards and an asphalt tonnage estimate.
- Line shapes give you linear feet for curb, edge, saw-cuts, crack runs, striping, culverts and drainage pipe.
- Give each shape its own service. One drawing can mix a paving section, an overlay and a sealcoated area, and each is priced its own way.
- Cut holes for islands, planters and building footprints.
- Walk mode drops points as you walk the edge of a big or awkward lot.
Tap Use in New Estimate and the line items are pre-filled from your rates. The aerial snapshot rides along onto the customer's estimate, invoice and PDF.
Aerial Measure comes with Crew ($99/mo) and up, and with the free trial.
Size a pothole from a photo
For patch work, Instant Measure estimates a pothole's size from a picture and logs the GPS location with it, so you have proof of where the repair was.
Tonnage math you don't do by hand
Bill a line by the ton, enter the area and lift thickness, and the tons fill themselves in:
tons = sq ft × thickness (in) × 145 lb/ft³ ÷ 24,000
145 lb/ft³ is a rule-of-thumb density for compacted hot mix. Check it against your plant tickets and add waste. The same estimate line also handles flex base, gravel, decomposed granite and sand, each with its own rule-of-thumb density you should check against your supplier's numbers.
Worked example (plug in your own numbers): 1,500 sq ft at 3 in = 27.19 tons. At an example $95/ton, the line is $2,583.05.

An asphalt bid template that's already written
The starter templates come with the scope wording filled in, so you aren't typing "saw-cut and square up the damaged area" for the hundredth time:
- New Asphalt Driveway: excavate and grade, install compacted crushed base, install compacted hot mix, as separate lines.
- Asphalt Overlay / Resurfacing: clean and prep, tack coat, compacted overlay, rolled to grade for drainage.
- Pothole Repair / Patch: saw-cut, remove failed material, tack, install and compact flush.
- Driveway Sealcoat and Crack Sealing, for the maintenance side.
The rates in them are placeholders. Set them to your own, then save your own templates for the jobs you bid every week.
How the totals work
Every line is quantity × rate, and you can type over any amount. Discount comes off first, then tax applies to the discounted amount, and the deposit is a slice of the total. One set of math runs on screen and on the saved record, so the number the customer sees is the number you saved.
The bid stays connected to the job
This is the part most estimating tools skip. In :
- The bid links to the job, and the job links to the invoice.
- The original bid amount stays visible on the invoice even if the final number changed, so you can see quoted versus billed.
- The customer is the same customer everywhere. You don't end up with three spellings of their name.
- Turn an estimate into an invoice, or back, without retyping a line.
- Request a deposit on the same invoice and collect the balance after.
Running the crew, too
Paving bids turn into paving days, so the estimate is only the start:
- Week Board and schedule: lay out the week and move it from your phone.
- Live Job Map: every live and upcoming job on one map.
- Time clock with pay periods, duplicate-punch flags and a payroll CSV (Crew).
- Daily field reports and weather (Crew).
- Warranty tracking and materials inventory (Crew).
- Equipment and maintenance tracking, plus profitability reports (Business).
- A morning brief that reads the weather (Business). It won't green-light sealcoating on a wet day.
- Works with no signal, including sign-in.
Who it's for, and who it isn't
Built for: owner-operators and small crews doing residential driveways and light commercial work (church lots, strip centers, HOA entrances), where the owner bids from his phone.
Not built for: DOT or highway work bid off engineered plan sets, or big fleets that want an implementation team. measures off aerial imagery. It doesn't do takeoffs from plan sheets.
Other asphalt estimating options
Plenty of paving software asks for a demo or an application before you can see the inside. OneCrew, PavementSoft and Pavement Layers all worked that way when we checked. Bitumio is asphalt-specific and lists $149 per office user a month, with field users free. lists its prices and lets you start yourself. Prices and signup checked Oct 2026; confirm on their sites.

FAQ
What is asphalt paving estimating software?
It's software that turns a measured area into a priced bid: square footage, tons of hot mix, base, labor and the line items, then sends that bid to the customer. Good tools also carry the bid through to the job and the invoice.
How does it calculate asphalt tonnage?
Square feet × thickness in inches × density (145 lb/ft³ as a rule of thumb for hot mix) ÷ 24,000. Confirm the density against your plant tickets and add 5–10% for waste.
Can I measure a parking lot without walking it?
Yes. Trace it on aerial imagery and cut out islands as holes. For awkward lots, walk mode drops points as you walk the edge.
Can I bid paving and sealcoating on the same estimate?
Yes. Each traced shape gets its own service, so one drawing can price a paved section, an overlay and a sealcoated area together.
Does it do takeoffs from engineered plans?
No. measures off aerial imagery. It's built for driveway, lot and light-commercial crews, not plan-set DOT bidding.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 14 days on the Business plan, with no card. If you don't pick a plan, you drop to the Free plan (20 estimates a month, 1 login) and keep your data.
